New/Mint
9.5 – 10
Brand new, or new with the wrapping just off and never used. No marks or wear anywhere.
Excellent
8.5 – 9
Like new, or only lightly used. At most a few very light cosmetic marks; structurally flawless.
Very Good
7.5 – 8
Light, honest signs of use, but cosmetically strong with nothing that needs repair.
Good
6.5 – 7
Clearly used with marks in places, but fully functional — may want minor servicing (a re-grip, wax or restring).
Bargain
5 – 6
Well-worn and a little rough cosmetically, but structurally sound and fully functional. We never stock below 4.5.
